Hand Hygiene

There is nothing more important in the healthcare profession than good hand hygiene. Germs are spread constantly, but you can take your part in helping to fight those nasty germs! It is important to wash hands before and after patient contact, as well as many other times possible throughout the day to not continue the spread of the germs.

1) Start by thoroughly wetting hands with warm, running water
2) Apply anti-bacterial soap
3) Rub soap over the front and back of your hands, between fingers, and under fingernails for at least 20 continuous seconds
4) Rinse all soap off, and dry hands thoroughly

When on the go, be sure to utilize hand-sanitizer for a quick “hand wash”! Don’t catch those dirty germs, keep your hands clean!
